Take on The Big Swim for Head for Change

Join us for the third annual Big Swim at Lisvane & Llanishen Reservoirs in Cardiff and help raise vital funds to support former athletes and families living with sports-related brain injury.

The Big Swim has its roots in the Big Rugby Swim, the English Channel challenge featured in a Sky Sports documentary. Today, we’re building on that legacy by opening the event to everyone, creating our most inclusive Big Swim yet and inviting people of all backgrounds and abilities to make a difference together.

Whether you’re swimming 600m, 1,200m or 1,800m, every participant helps raise awareness, fund research and ensure people affected by brain injury can access the support they need.

The event is open to everyone over the age of 18, and all levels of swimmers are welcome.

An inclusive event, the Big Rugby Swim is designed to bring everyone together and enjoy the day with friends and family cheering the swimmers on from the reservoir bank.

Complimentary tea and coffee will be available all day, and we’ll have celebratory pizza with the swimmers and supporters.

Date: 12-6PM, Saturday, 26 September 2026

Location: Lisvane & Llanishen Reservoirs, Cardiff

Cost: £30 per swimmer
